The history of Gerber Investment Group which today is Gerber International Holdings began at a family gathering in the suburbs of Detroit in the summer of 1960. During this gathering, a group of family members decided to join forces and work together to achieve mutual growth. Although it wasn't always smooth sailing, with slight disagreements and both good and bad times, they persevered, learning from each other for the betterment of the whole group. Throughout it all one thing was very clear from all involved. They wanted the Gerber name to stand above the rest. They wanted the name to be known for always providing top quality products and services not just meeting some Industry Standard. They wanted something they could be proud of at the end of each day. Not just meeting a industry standard but exceling above it. A name that people could trust and believe in with a worldwide reputation of being the leader in whatever business or industry the group decided to enter.

The concept of a larger family group working together and putting their eggs all in one basket might have been somewhat novel in the early 1960s. However, they rolled up their sleeves, put in the hard work, and continued to believe in the future. The group continued to grow slowly but steadily over the years. They all were visionaries' and knew that if handled correctly, their efforts would result in a solid and stronger organization in the future. Later on in the development of the structuring of the beginning group it became clear they need a true business leader with a track record of success in the word of business that would keep the group focused and deducted on a path towards a successful and solid future. They brought in the right person for the job. Mr. James Carrington with a history and track record of business success, the first president of the group, was brought in to direct and guide the group. He brought years of successful business leadership and vision, laying the foundation for a solid and prosperous future. Mr. Carrington's vision and leadership was extremely instrumental for the holding company you see today. His foresight and guidance directed the group towards a solid, stable and sustained organization. We have these pioneering individuals to thank for their insight, vision, and strength by working together for future generations.

Today, Gerber International Holdings, LLC stands as a conglomerate still owned and steered by the Gerber family from Michigan. The corporate structure and name changed in 2023, prompted by a strategic restructuring recommended by a consulting firm engaged by the Board of Directors at Gerber Investment Group. This transformative initiative aimed to consolidate all affiliated companies under the unified guidance of a newly formed corporation. Thus, Gerber International Holdings, LLC emerged, symbolizing the harmonized direction of diverse subsidiaries. The philosophy is still firmly the same to not provide a standard but to exceed it.

Under the expansive umbrella of Gerber International Holdings, LLC, distinct divisions took shape, each with its unique purpose:

Equities Division: This division focuses on managing investments in equities, navigating the complexities of the stock market to optimize returns.
Real Estate Division: Centered on real estate management services and ventures, this division oversees property acquisitions, developments, and related strategic initiatives.
Multimedia Production & Services Division: Engaged in content creation, production, and provision of diverse services within the dynamic realm of multimedia.
Food Production, Distribution, and Franchise Division: We have just recently entered the food service franchise business after purchasing a controlling interest in the Saint James company of Texas.
Charitable Community Foundation: Aligned with the Gerber family's commitment to philanthropy, this division champions community initiatives through charitable contributions and community development projects.

Each division operates autonomously, propelled by a dedicated management team that reports directly to the President/CEO of Gerber International Holdings, LLC. Leading this charge is Scott Randy Gerber, who currently serves as the President/CEO, bringing a wealth of experience and vision to guide the company's trajectory.

Amidst the restructuring, the corporate heart of Gerber International Holdings, LLC continues to beat in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, underscoring its unwavering roots. Additionally, a southern satellite office in Tampa, Florida, further solidifies the company's reach and operational capabilities. Franchise and Food Division

In early 2024, Gerber International Holdings (GIH) completed a year-long strategic acquisition of the Saint James Company, a well-established orange juice producer based in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1976 by the Saint James family, the company began with a commitment to producing high-quality, natural orange juice sourced from local farms. Over the decades, they expanded their distribution beyond Texas, steadily growing their footprint across multiple states. Despite their growth, they remained dedicated to their founding values, ensuring their products stayed free of artificial ingredients. The family’s secret recipes, crafted in the company's early years, remain closely guarded to this day.

When GIH’s CEO first met the two Saint James brothers, he was struck by their meticulous approach to production and distribution, leveraging the latest technology while maintaining the integrity of their product. Equally notable was the brothers’ deep concern for their loyal employees—many of whom had been with the company for decades—demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and care for their workforce.

The acquisition process spanned over a year, with multiple meetings in both Dallas and Detroit. The brothers visited GIH’s headquarters, met the staff, and had discussions with the board. By the end of 2023, both parties felt confident about the transition. The Saint James brothers were ready to pass the torch after determining that their children, pursuing careers outside of the family business, weren’t interested in taking over. Having spent their lives building the company from the ground up, the brothers decided it was time to slow down, enjoy more leisure, and focus on their love of golf and fishing.

A key request from the Saint James brothers was that the company undergo a name change. In honor of this request, GIH rebranded the company as Dunedin Juice Company, inspired by the CEO’s affection for the charming community of Dunedin, Florida, which had left a lasting impression on him during a his first visit there many years ago. Now he calls the area home since 2020.

This acquisition marks GIH’s first venture into the food and beverage industry, an exciting but measured step into a new niche. While the long-term trajectory of GIH's involvement in this sector remains uncertain, the immediate focus will be on expanding the juice business both with some new products and new areas of distribution including, north, east coast, and further out west, at the same time ensuring a smooth transition over to the new brand name. The board, CEO, and entire GIH team are enthusiastic about the possibilities and are eager to see what the future holds for Dunedin Juice Company as part of their growing portfolio.
